Adjusting to Freedom: Todd and Julie Chrisley Reconnect After Prison Release

Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley have opened up about the state of their marriage after being released from prison - and admitted that 'reconnecting' has been an 'adjustment'

EXCLUSIVE: Todd and Julie Chrisley's Marriage on the Rocks? Reality TV Couple Opens Up About Reconnecting After Prison Release

In a shocking twist, Todd and Julie Chrisley, the beloved reality TV couple from the popular show "Chrisley Knows Best," have finally broken their silence about the state of their marriage after being released from prison just months ago. And trust us, it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

As The Scholarly Note previously reported, the power couple was granted a full pardon by former President Donald Trump in May 2022 for their conviction on tax evasion and bank fraud charges. But despite their newfound freedom, sources close to the family revealed that reuniting with each other has been an "adjustment" period.

'First of all, and I want to be completely transparent, there is an adjustment period,' Julie admitted on a new episode of their podcast

In a recent episode of their podcast, Todd and Julie Chrisley dished about the challenges they faced while apart and how it's affected their relationship. The reality TV stars, who have been married for 31 years, admitted that reconnecting after being separated for so long has been tough.

"It's not an adjustment period in our marriage, per se, it's an adjustment period back to life," Julie explained. "Again, we were given one of the greatest gifts we could have ever been given, and that is a full, unconditional pardon."

But don't be fooled by their sugarcoated responses – sources close to the family revealed that things are not as rosy as they seem. Insiders claim that Todd had become increasingly distant from Julie while in prison, and their communication issues were evident on their podcast.

On May 27, the couple received the news of a lifetime as President Donald Trump announced that he would be fully pardoning the both of them as they were serving time for tax evasion

"Julie has been trying to hold it together for her family, but the truth is, she's been feeling suffocated by Todd's behavior," an insider spilled. "She feels like he's been 'cutting her off' mid-conversation, and it's causing tension between them."

Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, were found guilty in July 2022 of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans. They also faced charges of tax evasion for hiding their earnings while showcasing an extravagant lifestyle on their reality show.

But despite the drama surrounding their personal lives, the Chrisleys are preparing to return to TV with a new Lifetime reality show, "The Chrisleys: Back to Reality." The docuseries promises to give fans an intimate look at their journey back home and reunification with their family.

However, on a new episode of their podcast, they spoke about the realities of their situation - and how it has affected their relationship. They're seen reuniting in the trailer for their show

In a sneak peek trailer for the upcoming series, their eldest daughter Savannah Chrisley, 27, tearfully revealed how she and her siblings struggled to cope with their parents' absence. "With my parents gone, our household is completely divided," Savannah confessed. "I told my parents, I don't know if it can ever be repaired, honestly."

The tension between Todd and Julie's family members was palpable as they shared their concerns about the state of their relationship. But in a bizarre twist, Todd seemed to downplay the drama, saying that he and Julie are still very much in love.

"The parts still worked," Todd said. "They still fit. It’s like plugging into the same station."

In response to whether or not they were having trouble 'reconnecting,' Todd (seen here during his emotional reunion with Julie) added, 'No, so the parts still worked. They still fit'

However, an insider revealed that things are far from rosy between the power couple. "Todd has been trying to put on a united front for their family's sake, but the truth is, he and Julie have been having serious communication issues," the source claimed.

As the Chrisleys gear up for their return to reality TV, fans can't help but wonder: are they truly reconnected or just putting on a show for the cameras? One thing's for sure – we'll be keeping a close eye on this drama-filled family in the months to come.
