38 Years Later: The Identical Twins from 'Three Men And A Baby' Reveal Their Lives Today

Nearly 38 years ago, Three Men And A Baby debuted in theaters and instantly became a comedy classic. DailyMail.com can now give an update on the identical twins who played baby Mary

The Cutest Casting Call: What Happened to Three Men And A Baby's Real-Life Starlets?

It's been nearly four decades since Tom Selleck, Steve Guttenberg, and Ted Danson made audiences laugh with their outrageous antics in the hit comedy "Three Men And A Baby." But behind the scenes of this box office smash, two tiny talents stole the show – identical twin sisters Michelle and Lisa Blair, who played the adorable Mary at just four months old. We caught up with one half of this dynamic duo to find out what they've been up to since their big-screen debut.

Michelle, now a grown woman with two kids of her own, revealed in an exclusive interview with TheScholarlyNote.com that life as a child star wasn't all glamour and glitz. In fact, the twins' first taste of fame was more like a "fluke" than a carefully crafted career move. Their mom, Geriann Blair, recalled being on maternity leave when she stumbled upon a casting call for the film's poster shoot.

One of the twin child stars, Michelle, revealed her latest appearance in a recent photo shared to social media. Michelle, who didn't pursue acting beyond her single film credit, later married Ryan Ontonovich, with whom she shares two children

"I thought it was just a scene in a movie," Geriann chuckled. "But weeks later, I got a call from none other than Leonard Nimoy himself, offering my daughters the role of Mary." Talk about a phone call to remember!

As it turned out, Michelle and Lisa were naturals on set – they even brought their own brand of baby magic to the production. Who could forget the infamous photo shoot for the movie's poster, where Tom Selleck nervously held a diaper-free Michelle (who, by the way, was just four months old at the time)? Geriann laughed about the whole ordeal: "He looked over at me and said, 'Is this safe?' And I said, 'Oh, I don't know.' And then, there she goes, sure enough!" That unexpected wet spot on Selleck's shirt became one of the movie's most iconic images.

But it wasn't just Michelle who stole the show – her twin sister Lisa had a few tricks up her sleeve as well. During filming, Lisa was tasked with "urinating" for a scene using plastic tubing taped to her body. However, when the special effects went haywire and the waterworks failed to deliver, Lisa surprised everyone by letting nature take its course. Leonard Nimoy's reaction? "That's what good actresses do!" Geriann joked.

In a 2014 appearance on The Today Show, Michelle (L) revealed that she pursued a career in the insurance industry. Her identical twin sister Lisa (R) has been more private in recent years and has kept a lower public profile

Despite their impressive on-screen debut, neither Michelle nor Lisa has any memories of their time in the spotlight – after all, they were just four months old at the time! But as they grew older, they began to experience the perks and pitfalls of fame. As teenagers, fans started approaching them more frequently for autographs, and Lisa even landed a job in customer service while Michelle pursued a career in insurance.

In 2014, both sisters sat down with The Today Show's Matt Lauer to discuss their experiences as child stars. "When we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all," Michelle shared. "I think it was when we became teenagers and people started coming up to us a lot more." Lisa added that fans of the movie began asking for autographs, which took some getting used to.

Today, Michelle is married to Ryan Ontovich and has two adorable kids of her own – not so different from the role she played all those years ago. As for Lisa, she's kept a lower public profile in recent years but remains just as charming and talented as ever. We can't wait to see what these two sisters do next!

At the time, their mother Geriann (R) revealed she was 'bored at home on [maternity] leave' when she went in for a casting call that she thought was just for a 'single scene' in a movie

But Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, who directed the film, later gave her the phone call of a lifetime

Geriann revealed that Michelle accidentally urinated on Selleck during a photoshoot for the film's poster, and his wet shirt became a part of the iconic image from Annie Leibovitz

'When we were little, it wasn't a big deal to us at all,' Michelle said in 2014. 'I think it was when we became teenagers and people started coming up to us a lot more.' Lisa added that people started to ask for their autographs
